I think both rivalries are a result of reflection from the lamp, out of view in the background. Sometimes imperfect reality is the hardest thing to keep out of a stereo photograph. ;-)
Good fortune would have it that Photomatix has "Ghost removal" which selects, I think, the first image in a sequence and uses that where things change. It is surprisingly effective. The shot I posted of gondolas on the Grand Canal in Venice was also shot with this same rig. With 5 exposures using painfully long exposures (100 ISO) to keep the grain down, it is pretty remarkable to get these results.
Thanks for the encouragement. I think I will try to go for more shots like this. One thing John Bolland (yes, him) taught me is the value of having people in shots. It's turning out to be harder than it sounds.
Fabulous web site. You should teach a course in this stuff. I feel like all these years, I have just learned the basics, but if you say you are still figuring this stuff out, then there is hope for me yet. Funny how the more you learn, the more you realize that there is so much more learning to do.
Where did you learn the fractals?
I used my Lumix GX1 fitted with a macro modified Lumix 3D lens and also a push on 10x close up lens. A very tidy and compact arrangement. I should post a picture of it somewhere.
Timo, I thought I had "faved" this before, but I guess I didn't. So you have it now. This shot is one that I have viewed, and re-viewed several times. Yes, it's a keeper. Thank you for your recent faves and kind comment on some of my recent stereos. I am still finding out new tweaks and developing my workflow with regard to HDR/Tone Mapping. There's so many variables! I'm not comfortable posting lots of my works here, especially since I have a lot that are similar. But I did just post 92 stereos to my personal site. Many were posted here, but a lot were not. If you're interested, it's: http://www.webweview.com/tbg Just click on "Stereo", and Gallery 11 is the new one.
